Stratford High School Newcomer's Guide

Welcome to Stratford!

Our Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is proud to be here to help smooth your transition to Stratford High School (SHS). In this Resource Guide you will find ways to be informed, get involved and stay connected within our Stratford community.

SHS PTSA serves the entire student body, Stratford teachers and staff, school groups and Booster clubs. Through financial contributions and volunteer efforts, SHS PTSA helps enhance the educational experience of all SHS students.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact SHS PTSA President Dominique Harvey at or visit ASK the PTSA - a new blog created to quickly answer any Stratford question you have.

Communication is the key to our success and the strength of Stratford America.

The Spartan Scoop – SHS PTSA publishes an electronic newsletter every Tuesday during the school year.   You will need to join the PTSA in order to begin receiving the Scoop.  Once you are a member of the PTSA, you will automatically receive the Scoop!

Submit a Communication Request - Do you need to submit an article for publication on the SHS PTSA website? Click here to view the form.

Directory - The SHS PTSA directory is entirely online via the PTSA website! We are no longer offering printed directories.  Be on the lookout this summer for information to join the PTSA via the Big Form which will give you options to add, update, and/or add your student's information in the directory as well as information for accessing the directory.  Please include your student’s cell phone number so he/she can be contacted for school-related projects.

**Please note that SHS PTSA Directory is available also on the  “Membership Took Kit” app.

Social Media -  Like our Facebook page as well as our Instagram page @STRATFORD_PTSA to stay up to date with the PTSA events!

PTSA Scheduled Meetings – The PTSA Board, Booster liaisons and standing committee members encourage all PTSA members and Stratford parents to attend their regular business meetings. Meetings are scheduled every month except for October and February when the Peer Groups meet to exchange information, invite input and welcome new volunteer interests. Each PTSA Board meeting features a guest speaker discussing a timely relevant topic.

Newcomer Orientation - All students that are new to Stratford High School are welcome to come to the Newcomer Orientation.  There will be morning and evening sessions available. Times to be announced.

Students will receive a tour during newcomer orientation by “Link Crew”. Link Crew is a high school transition program that supports newcomers & freshmen through their first year at Stratford and helps them develop the strategies and relationships that will contribute to their high school success. Led by juniors and seniors, Link Crew begins with a powerful orientation day designed to boost the excitement level and generate pride in attending Stratford.

Parking - Juniors and Seniors only - Please bring the required forms and documentation

There no longer is a need to allow exceptions for certain student groups to park in the east or south lot because everyone has equal access to make the decision that best suits the needs of the student and their family. *Remember, parking is a privilege and not a right. When all parking spaces are full for the year then they are full for the year. That traditionally has not happened until the spring semester when eligible sophomores buy the remaining open parking spots. We will let sophomores begin purchasing parking spots later in the fall semester, roughly around November.
